About the Teacher
I graduated from Valdosta State University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. After several years of service in the medical profession, I decided to seek my other life objective and transfer into education. I knew teaching would be a career that would be rewarding and one in which you could make a difference in a child's life. In 2011, I received my Master's Degree in Special Education from Valdosta State University.
Since 2005, I have worked for the Cook County School System in various subjects and in grades ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade.
I am originally a native of Cook County. I have three beautiful daughters named Kirsten, Kaitlin, and Kinsley. I also have a yorkie named Kolby and a dachshund named Kody. Yes, they all get called the wrong name most often. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, completing craft projects, and reading a book.
I spent many years at the middle school level, but transitioned to Cook Elementary School in 2017. I have greatly enjoyed teaching in 5th grade and am thrilled to help each student meet their academic goals.
