Subjects Taught

I graduated from Lowndes High School in 2002.  After high school, I attended Georgia Military College and obtained my Associate's Degree.  Next, i went to Valdosta State University, where I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in 2007.  Then, I attended Walden University, and earned my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Reading and Math.

After graduating VSU in 2007, I began teaching at Quitman Elementary School.  I spent nearly a decade there, and I taught 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade.  In 2015, I became a 3rd grade teacher at S.L. Mason in Valdosta.  In June of 2017, I joined Cook Elementary School as a 5th grade math teacher.

My life is unique, and my family is large.  I live in Valdosta, with my husband and 7 children!  Yes, I said 7 children!  That is not a typo! We have all kinds of animals, including dogs, turtles, and even a snake.  In my free time, I enjoy reading novels, traveling to Canada (My husband is from Vancouver.), and spending time with family and friends.

The color blue makes me happy, tacos are my favorite food, and I love window shopping.  I can spend hours looking around my favorite stores, but I can walk out without buying a single thing.

Children have always held a special place in my life.  I was babysitting at the age of 9 and continued this through high school.  I worked at a daycare center when I turned 18.  I became a foster parent at the age of 21. Helping children has always been at the top of my priority list.

I love my family, I love my job, and I love Cook Elementary School!
